Deputy Nursery Manager - The Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated
Deputy Nursery Manager
to join our leadership team.
This is a varied and rewarding role -- a mix of office-based management and hands-on practice in the nursery. You'll work alongside the Nursery Manager and Office Manager to lead the team and uphold our outstanding standards.
Your main responsibilities:
Support the Nursery Manager with daily operations and compliance.
Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding EYFS practice.
Act as
SENCO
, promoting inclusion and supporting additional needs.
Oversee teaching, learning, and quality across all age groups.
Manage staffing levels and rota planning.
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
Maintain high standards in
safeguarding, health & safety
, and equality.
Step up for the Nursery Manager during absence.
Get involved in all aspects of nursery life - helping make the nursery the best it can be.
About You
We're seeking a confident, organised leader who's passionate about early years education.
You'll need:
Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
(Level 5/6 desirable).
Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience
in an early years setting.
Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
Excellent knowledge of the
EYFS
and safeguarding requirements.
Confident use of
Microsoft Word and Excel
.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for child development.
This role would suit an
experienced Room Leader
,
Third in Charge
, or
existing Deputy Nursery Manager
ready to progress.
There's a clear pathway to
Nursery Manager
