Ravenshead Preschool Playgroup, an Ofsted registered charity offering places to children between the ages of 2 - 5 years, are recruiting for a

Part-time Deputy Nursery Manager

to start in September 2025.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the preschool, ensuring high-quality care and education for all children. You'll be responsible for managing and mentoring staff, maintaining compliance with EYFS standards, and helping create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment.

We are a registered charity, which means we are a non-profit organisation and are governed by a pre-school committee which mainly consists of parents.

The position will be a 0-hour contract but we are looking for someone who is able to work on

Monday, Tuesdays & Wednesdays

initially.

About the role:



Hours are 8.30am - 4:00pm (7 hours paid with a half hour unpaid lunch break) 14 per hour

6 weeks and 1 days paid holiday per year

. 1 week at October, 1 week at xmas, 1 week at Easter and then 3 weeks and 1 day in the summer Paid every 4 weeks Overtime may be available Start date Monday 1st September (2nd & 3rd off)

Key Responsibilities:



Support the Nursery Manager in daily operations and leadership Lead, motivate, and manage staff, including rota planning and performance reviews Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed Build strong partnerships with parents and carers Contribute to the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum Step up as Manager when required

Requirements:



Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education First aid desirable but not essential - training will be provided Proven experience in a leadership role within a nursery or childcare setting Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted regulations Excellent communication and team leadership skills Ideally based locally to Ravenshead or surrounding areas Commitment in working with young children: working in the Early Years sector can be as intensive as it is rewarding so you must have a passion for child development and dedication to caring. Creative skills and imagination to provide educational activities to children that can ensure the child is happy and learning in a rewarding environment - all of our staff have involvement in planning the activities for the children Personal skills - to be personable and approachable with children's parents, as our parent relationships are vital to helping you to understand how to keep children happy and supported, both in nursery and home life.
