About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a thriving nursery in Plaistow, East London. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Early Years professional to step into a senior leadership role, support a dedicated team, and help shape high-quality outcomes for children aged 0-5.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nursery Manager with both daily operations and long-term development of the setting. You will lead by example, champion best practice, and ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support a team of Early Years Practitioners. Support the planning and delivery of a high-quality EYFS curriculum. Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements. Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and carers. Assist with rota planning, recruitment, inductions, and performance management. Monitor occupancy and budgets in partnership with the Nursery Manager. Promote a child-centred, inclusive culture that supports individual needs and development.

About You

We are looking for a confident and approachable Early Years leader who is committed to delivering excellent childcare and supporting team development.

Requirements:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 4 or 5 desirable). Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a nursery setting. Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and statutory requirements. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. A collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused approach. Eligibility to work in the UK.
