About the Role



We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership of our well-established nursery in Surbiton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Early Years professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality education and care.

Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, guiding the staff team, and ensuring children receive exceptional learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.

Key Responsibilities



Support the day-to-day running of the nursery to ensure smooth, effective operations. Provide strong, positive leadership and model best practice in Early Years education. Support planning and delivery of a broad, balanced, and stimulating EYFS curriculum. Contribute to staff training, development, supervision, and performance management. Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and carers. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for both children and staff. Support occupancy growth by conducting tours and engaging prospective families. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements.

About You



Essential Requirements:



Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare. Previous supervisory or leadership experience within an Early Years setting. Excellent understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding practices, and regulatory requirements. Strong organisational, communication, and people-management skills. A proactive, child-centred approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable:



Experience supporting Ofsted inspections. Knowledge of nursery management systems and operational processes. Familiarity with staff supervision, coaching, and performance reviews.
