We are delighted to be recruiting a committed and experienced
Deputy Nursery Manager
to support the leadership of a well-established nursery in
Surbiton
. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Early Years professional who is ready to step into a senior role and make a meaningful impact on children, families, and staff.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the nursery, leading by example and ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and compliance are consistently delivered in line with the
EYFS
framework.
About the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will support operational leadership while helping to create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. You will also act as a positive role model for the team, supporting staff development and contributing to the continued success and growth of the setting.
Key Responsibilities
Support the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the nursery
Provide confident, positive leadership and model best practice in Early Years
Support the planning and delivery of a broad, engaging, and child-centred EYFS curriculum
Assist with staff supervision, training, coaching, and performance management
Build strong, professional relationships with children, parents, and carers
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children and staff
Support occupancy growth by conducting nursery tours and engaging prospective families
Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements
About You
Essential:
Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an Early Years setting
Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements
Excellent organisational, communication, and people-management skills
A proactive, child-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
Desirable:
Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
Familiarity with nursery management systems and operational processes
Experience conducting staff supervisions, coaching, and performance reviews
