We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager
to support the daily leadership and operations at Woodlands Residential Home in Fleet. Working closely with the Home Manager, you'll ensure excellent care standards, regulatory compliance, and a nurturing atmosphere for both residents and staff.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who combines deep care knowledge with outstanding organisational and people management skills. You will deputise in the absence of the home manager when required and play a key role in ensuring compliance, excellence in care delivery, and deliver a positive, supportive culture for residents, staff and relatives.
This role is full-time (circa 48 hours/week), including alternate weekends. The successful candidate should be flexible and able to meet the needs of the resident's day and night when required.
Kep responsibilities include:
Support the Home Manager in all aspects of daily operations and care delivery.
Ensure ongoing compliance with CQC regulations and our internal policies and quality standards (Sunflower Approach to Care).
Lead by example by working on the floor and taking two shift leads per week.
Mentor, supervise, and develop team members through regular supervisions, appraisals, and hands-on support.
Contribute to personalised care planning and resident reviews.
Help manage staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Conduct audits and spot checks to monitor standards.
Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence.
About You
You will be experienced in the role of Residential Deputy Manager with a genuine passion for elderly and dementia care, looking to step into or progress within a management role. You will combine care knowledge with leadership ability, communication skills and best practice.
We are looking for someone who can:
Demonstrate proven experience as a Deputy Manager within a residential care setting.
Show strong knowledge of CQC compliance and best practice in elderly care.
Can work both independently and part of a team
Hold (or be working towards) a Level 3 or a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
Lead by example with compassion, professionalism, and integrity.
Motivate and develop staff to build a stronger team and to deliver excellent standards of care.
Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Person Centre Software (PCS) desirable.
