We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Leader to support our childcare team. This role involves assisting with the organisation and supervision of children within a nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for working with young children. We are working towards our curiosity approach accreditation so training for this is provided.
Responsibilities
Support the Lead Supervisor in managing daily nursery activities and routines
Assist in supervising children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Engage children in educational and recreational activities that promote development
Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children and staff
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children to foster a positive atmosphere
Support the organisation of programmes aligned with early childhood education standards
Ensure the smooth running of the room in the absence of the room leader
Experience
Previous experience working with children in childcare, nursery, or early childhood education settings is preferred
Demonstrated management or leadership experience within a childcare environment is advantageous
Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Experience working with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs, is desirable
Flexibility with hours - working hours fall between 7.30-6.00pm
We are looking for someone with a level 3 qualification ideally but a level 2 qualification would be considered for the right person
