Job Description

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications from individuals for the role of temporary Deputy Safeguarding and Volunteer Officer within the Community Safety department based at Service Headquarters, Carmarthen. This is a temporary post until 31 March 2026.

The Role



The successful post holder will be responsible for progressing and enhancing the existing volunteering arrangements and co-ordinating a broad network of community volunteers across Mid and West Wales with the aim of helping our communities lead safer and healthier lives. Volunteering opportunities will be explored across all areas of service delivery and support departments. The post holder will manage the activities of volunteers who will support community safety and wider Service activities across all Directorates. The role involves generating and delivering Safe and Well Visits and a wide range of Community Safety activities in line with MAWWFRS strategy.

Furthermore, the post holder will be based within the Community Safety department and provide resilience for Safeguarding and also support Home Safety and Partnership activities.

This post is full-time, working 37 hours per week with flexible hours in line with the Service's flexi-time scheme.
