Are you an experienced Registrar looking for a new opportunity within a supportive and dynamic local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Deputy Superintendent Registrar to join our Registration Service, working alongside the Registration Manager to deliver high-quality registration services to our local community. The roles working partern consists of Monday, Wednesday & Fridays.
The Role
As the Deputy Superintendent Registrar, you will play a key role in supporting the Registration Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Registration Service. Your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring the accurate and timely registration of births, deaths, and marriages
Conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies
Providing advice and guidance to customers regarding registration services
Maintaining accurate records and statistical information
Deputising for the Registration Manager in their absence
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Experience working as a Registrar within a local authority
Knowledge of registration legislation and procedures
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload
Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years' service.
