Job Description

Glow Futures is a specialist children's home provider based in Poole, Dorset, offering therapeutic care for children aged

4 to 11 years

. We support young children who have experienced trauma, particularly within caregiving relationships, through

highly nurturing, family-style homes registered with Ofsted

. This will be Glow Futures first home, although the Directors are experienced social workers, and operated previous children's home.

Each home cares for

up to two children

, creating a safe, stable, and intimate environment where healing and growth can flourish. Our

Glow Therapeutic Re-Parenting Pathway

provides assessment, intervention, and transition planning, with the ultimate goal of helping children move into long-term family life--through foster care, adoption, kinship, or reunification.

The Role



We are seeking

a Deputy Manager / Team Leader / Senior

(qualified to level 3 or above diploma in residential child care) to work alongside the children on a residential shift pattern of

2 days on and 4 days off

.

This is a set 6 week rolling shift pattern, with sleep in shifts, plus an average 38.5 hours per week working shifts. The applicant will be looking to progress to Registered Manager level following successful probation and further development training. Working closely with the experienced Registered Manager to progress to this position shortly.

As part of our

multi-disciplinary team

, you will work closely with social workers, psychologists, therapists, and teachers to deliver personalised care plans. Reflective practice and trauma-informed approaches are embedded in our daily routines, ensuring that every interaction contributes to a child's recovery journey.

Salary: 15 per hour + sleep in payment of 50 per night



Key Responsibilities



Provide high-quality, therapeutic care within a nurturing home environment. Build trusting relationships with children, using the

PACE model

(Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy). Supervise non qualified staff. Lead the team and deputise for the House Manager. Support children with

daily routines, hobbies, education, and enrichment activities

. Work collaboratively with a clinical team to deliver tailored therapeutic interventions. Participate in reflective practice sessions and ongoing training. Contribute and develop detailed assessments, care planning, and transition planning. Maintain a safe, stable, and supportive environment that promotes healing and resilience. Undertake an on call (out of hours) manager support

About You



We're looking for individuals who are

resilient, compassionate, and motivated

by the desire to make a lasting difference in children's lives. You will be looking for a

trainee residential manager role, and have experience as a deputy / team leader.



Essential:



Level 3 (minimum) residential child care award

(preferably level 5 or willing to work towards)

At least 3 years experience working with children or young people, ideally those with

social, emotional, or mental health needs

. A commitment to

trauma-informed practice

and child-centred care. Emotional resilience and ability to stay calm under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. A Driving Licence Over 21 years of age Experience of therapeutic or trauma-informed models such as

DDP

or

PACE

. Knowledge of SEMH, attachment, autism, or ADHD.
