Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to support the Ward Manager in leading a nursing team. This is a senior role with both clinical and management responsibilities. You'll spend 20% of your time on management duties and oversee a group of staff members.



Key Responsibilities:



Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Act as the named nurse for patients, planning and reviewing care with them and their families.

Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.

Update and review care plans regularly.

Handle feedback and complaints professionally.

Lead and support your team during shifts, including taking charge when required.

Work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for holistic care delivery.

Attend and contribute to meetings and staff supervision.

Support the professional development of junior staff and act as a preceptor.

Follow safeguarding protocols and relevant healthcare legislation.

Comply with medication, safety, and professional standards, including NMC and company policies.



About You:



Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6-12 months' post-registration experience.

Completed preceptorship and active NMC registration.

Up-to-date with professional development and NMC guidelines.

Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Confident in leading teams and managing care priorities.



Experience Required:



At least 6 months of experience in a mental health care setting.
