We have an amazing opportunity for you to join us at a leading Battery Specialist warehouse in
Barnsley
as a
Deputy Warehouse Manager.
We are looking for dynamic people that are looking for a long term career as the business continues to grow over the next 5 year.
Day in the life of a Deputy Warehouse Manager
Working within a friendly team environment you will be sorting a variety of battery and power electronics products. You will also be responsible for checking the accuracy of customers online orders. Managing stock and deliveries alongside serving customers.
You will be responsible for:
Splitting, counting, and allocating tickets
Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required
Train new Warehouse operatives within area of responsibility
Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets
Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse. Where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level
Inventory control and battery health
Ensure inventories are accurate
Investigating Packing Errors
Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards and carry out risk assessments
Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
Ensure hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements
Stock investigations
Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals
Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change
Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately
Assist in planning future capacity requirements
Maintain high standards of security in the warehouse
Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency
To cover the warehouse operative roles where required
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Experience in within a warehouse environment
Forklift experience - Reach & Counter balance
Exceptional management and communication skills
Team player with a positive attitude towards work and staff engagement
Proactive with an eye for problem solving and continuous improvement

Working hours: 09:00am - 18:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 28,000.00-31,000.00 per year
