We teach in small groups with a dedicated and experienced teaching team, ensuring that each student receives individual attention and care. We create individual learning packages to support our students' needs.
Main Duties
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Design and Technology lessons across KS3-Post-16, covering Product Design, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Life Skills cookery, and Multi-Trade (woodwork).
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and setting clear learning targets.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Develop curriculum materials, contribute to schemes of work, and support departmental planning.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external partners to enhance learning and vocational opportunities.
Undertake pastoral responsibilities, including acting as a form tutor and supporting student wellbeing.
Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and whole-school initiatives.
Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunity policies.
Participate in meetings, professional development, and performance management processes.

About You
Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of Design Technology across Product Design, Food Preparation and Nutrition, and vocational qualifications including Multi-Trade (woodwork focus).
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated, and well-structured lessons across KS3-4 and post-16 Life Skills cookery.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Proficient in using a range of assessment methods to monitor student progress and inform future planning.
Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to share best practice with the wider school team.
Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience.
Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young person's they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
