A new opportunity has arisen in Computacenter for a Design Consultant; specializing in Structured Cabling, WiFi, CCTV & AV Solutions. The candidate can be located from either Reading, Blackfriars, Hatfield Branch or remotely located, covering projects countrywide. The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for producing bids, working on tenders and providing support to the account team as well as playing an integral part in contributing to the design and implementation of solutions to meet customer and contract requirements.

What you\'ll do

• Producing bids, providing support and proactive interaction with Account teams i.e. design solutions, pricing, attend intermediate customer meetings and sales presentations for Projects and BAU opportunities
• Act as technical authority on solutions and services delivered by strategic partners
• Ensuring accurate design and estimating techniques are deployed by utilizing all available tender information and product based knowledge to progress the bid response in a compliant and timely manner.
• Uses appropriate controls, planning, risk assessment and monitoring, leading bids adopting, and refining, the accepted best practices i.e. BISCI and manufactures design guidelines.
• Perform a complex range of technical work activities either remotely or at customer site to meet business and customer requirements.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions to meet customer and contract requirements.
• Ensures that handover documentation is fit for purpose and current to meet customer and contract requirements.
• Provides specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure consistent approach.
• Escalate issues in line with company processes to ensure customer demands are met.
• Able to communicate on complex issues to meet business and customer requirements to avoid escalations.
• Evaluate escalations and resolve appropriately to ensure customer demands are met.
• Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic team environments to maintain consistent effective contribution.

What you\'ll need

• Have Experience with either WiFi IP CCTV or Digital Signage solutions
• Holds a minimum 2 relevant main manufactures design accreditation i.e. Corning, Systimax, Panduit, Nexans etc.
• Holds, or is willing to work towards BISCI RCDD and/or CDCDP, CNIDP, EKAHAU, or CCTV Design accreditation
• Demonstrates ability to engage and influence on complex issues at all levels both internally and customer facing.
• Ability to work autonomously, as part of a bid team or under general supervision. Uses discretion.
• Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to resolving complex problems and assignments.
• Takes initiative in identifying and negotiating appropriate development opportunities.
• Broad experience in IT Service environment.
• Demonstrates the ability to absorb and apply technical information.
• Uses broad range of information systems, technology functions and applications in line with IT industry standards as appropriate to the role
• Literate; able to write credible documents/bids
• Numerate; confident with calculating costs and margins
• Have a minimum of 3 years experience within a design & Estimation department
• Experience of working on or pricing large Bids \xc2\xa3500K+
• Good understanding of IP connected devices and technologies, for example CCTV, AV, 802.11xx Wireless, In building Cellular Wireless Solutions etc
