Design Engineer
to join our growing team.
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design Engineer to help us develop new products and enhance existing ones from concept through to production. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong commercial awareness, technical expertise, and a passion for high-quality design work. You will collaborate closely across departments to deliver innovative solutions that meet our customers' evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design new products from initial concept to final delivery.
Produce detailed 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings.
Estimate design specifications, including dimensions, weight, and tooling requirements.
Liaise with the procurement team to ensure materials and components are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.
Create component and assembly drawings for external manufacture, including detailed BOM tables and exploded views.
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure design feasibility and quality.
About You:
You will have a strong technical background, with the ability to manage design projects independently while working collaboratively as part of a team. A keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential. Strong communication skills are also crucial, as you will regularly interact with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in a Design Engineer role or similar position.
Proficiency in 3D mechanical CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent).
Strong skills in product design, system layouts, and technical drawing.
Ability to create clear manufacturing drawings and specifications for external suppliers.
Experience producing complex assembly drawings and managing BOMs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team environment.
