Role Overview
As a Scaffold Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing safe and efficient scaffold designs that meet project specifications and comply with industry standards. You will collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Design scaffold structures using AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering software.
Perform structural calculations and load assessments to ensure safety and compliance.
Prepare detailed design drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to understand project requirements.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess conditions and verify design feasibility.
Ensure all designs adhere to TG20:21, BS EN 12811, and other relevant standards.
Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in scaffold design engineering.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit, Tekla, or similar software is a plus.
Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems (e.g., Layher, Cuplok, HAKI).
Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations (TG20:21, BS EN standards).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Desirable
Chartered or working towards chartered status (ICE, IStructE, etc.).
Experience in temporary works design.
Knowledge of BIM processes and digital construction tools.
