Design Engineer

Job Description
Working under initiative, with support from the Project Engineering team, from inception to completion" designing and draughting requirements for Food manufacturers.
Role Responsibilities
- Steelwork design, load bearing calculations, fabrication drawings.
- Access walkways and staircase design and fabrication drawings.
- Document risk assessments for the specific solutions and the interacting layout.
- Process layout refinement and design of interconnecting transfer chutes etc.
- Identify foot-loadings for interaction with construction companies.
- Identify utility connection points for the process layout.
- Receive layouts from the installing engineer and update as necessary.
- Confident with 3D SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Previous experience in equipment & steelwork design and fabrication techniques
- Engineering Qualification
- Experience within Food equipment would be advantageous.
- Willing to travel (occasional need for UK and foreign site surveys)
- Working knowledge of the following:- (Weldments, sheet-metal, part modelling, piping, stress analysis)
- Open-plan office environment.
- Weekday overtime of x1, Weekend overtime of x1.5 and Bank Holidays x2
- Private healthcare (after qualifying period)
