We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Senior Flooding and Drainage Design Engineer to join our Highways Drainage team based in Exeter. Location: Exeter, with some site visits required and hybrid working available

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: \xc2\xa342K-50K

Responsibilities

As a Senior Drainage Design Engineer, you will support the Drainage Team Leader to ensure effective project delivery and a high-quality service on projects across the UK, within Kier Highways Design Solutions. Current contracts include Local Authority, National Highways Area and Regional Contracts particularly Major Projects A66 NTP and M6 Emergency Laybys.

Your day to day will include:

  • Overseeing the preparation and checking of project tasks and deliverables including technical drawings, specifications and design calculations
  • Preparation of fee estimates, design programmes, tender and contract documents whilst proactively managing and communicating risk
  • Coaching and mentoring of all team members to ensure continual growth of the team and individuals as well as driving up the quality of our delivery
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Design Engineer is great for you if have:
  • Experience of leading a significant number of technically challenging projects which successfully resolve flooding or water quality issues including some major, multidiscipline projects
  • Experience of developing junior colleagues, particularly in technical modelling (drawing and hydraulics) and the application of standards
  • Experience working with local authorities and National Highways clients (as well as various stakeholders) whilst following their processes and quality systems, including successful completion of audits
