Job Description

We are seeking a

Design Engineering Support Engineer

to join an innovative R&D team working on the design and development of cutting-edge products. This role is ideal for someone with strong CAD skills, solid engineering fundamentals, and a passion for supporting product development from concept through to industrialisation.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the creation and modification of

CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation

. Support

prototype builds, testing activities, and data collection

to validate and refine designs. Maintain accurate

design documentation

in line with internal standards and regulations. Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Contribute to

engineering change management

processes, including preparation and tracking. Participate in

continuous improvement initiatives

, cost reduction, and design optimisation. Provide general support to the design team, including issue tracking, meeting preparation, and action follow-up.

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in

3D CAD tools

(e.g., SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor) and PDM systems. Strong grasp of

mechanical/electrical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes

. Excellent

organisational and problem-solving skills

, with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Clear communicator and effective

team player

across cross-functional departments. High standards of accuracy and attention to detail in technical documentation.

Education & Experience

HND/HNC or

Bachelor's degree

in Engineering, Product Design, or equivalent experience. Experience in a

design engineering or technical support role

within a manufacturing environment desirable. Familiarity with

engineering change management processes

. Proficiency with

Microsoft Office

(Excel, Word, Outlook); Smartsheets knowledge a plus. Awareness of relevant standards and directives (e.g., CE, UKCA, ISO) advantageous

Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
