What you'll be doingResponsible for all direct reports HR issues and guidance. Responsible for coordinating recruitment, monitoring & development of team members drawing office skills, ensuring the team members are trained and equipped to do the job effectively. Responsible for the creation of training content and presentations in line with development programme for each team member. Providing guidance and support to team members in your areas of expertise. Collaborate with other section heads regarding workload programs to ensure key performance indicators are kept at an agreeable level. Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work to clients, achieving high client satisfaction. Responsible for the monitoring, creation and approval of drawing office process. Ensuring all team members prioritise health, safety, quality, and environmental standards. Communicating and encouraging the use of drawing standards and procedures. Preparing and reviewing drawing documentation and processes within the Drawing Office. Ensuring team adherence to externally audited QA systems. Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of drawing office databases Maintaining an auditable design/design change system to facilitate BS EN 9001 accreditation. Responsible for spot checks on basic and detailed engineering drawings during approval process is being maintained Keeping drawing office manager, project staff and clients updated on work progress and any issues that arise.

What you'll bringDemonstrated experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas at voltages ranging from LV to 400kV:
Civil/Plant Layouts Design - Drawing Production Cable Route Design - Drawing Production Overhead Lines Design - Drawing Production Electrical Protection and Control - Drawing Production
In-depth understanding of engineering design principles and health & safety requirements. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to establish effective working relationships with individuals, departments, and businesses. Proficient in using Autodesk products, including AutoCAD 2020, Vault, ACC, ProjectWise, Revit, Raster Design 2020, and the MS Office suite. Excellent organisational abilities to ensure high client satisfaction and the ability to plan and manage conflicting requirements to meet challenging deadlines. Capability to investigate and comprehend detailed civil and substation design aspects of transmission / distribution network design or other energy-related assets. Contribute recommendations of continuous improvement initiatives relating to the drawing office functions and deliverables. Proven people management and leadership skills

As a minimum, you will demonstrate:HNC / HND in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or proven engineering experience within Transmission Substation Design - Drawing Office. Understanding of Engineering Design drawing production in chosen field. Proven experience in the chosen field, with a solid understanding of health and safety requirements, and compliance. Working knowledge of drawing standards and procedures. Skilled in using 2D / 3D Autodesk products, including AutoCAD, Vault, ACC, ProjectWise, Revit, Raster Design 2020, and the MS Office suite. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Valid UK driving license.
