Design Manager - Fire Remediation / Recladding - London - 250-350/day
We're looking for an experienced Design Manager to join a respected main contractor on high-rise residential fire remediation and recladding projects across London. You'll be responsible for managing design and compliance from start to finish, ensuring all works meet building regulations and fire safety standards. This is a six-month fixed-term contract with the potential to go permanent.
What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the design process for high-rise residential fire remediation/recladding projects
  • Appointing and overseeing consultants, including managing payments and deliverables
  • Coordinating with engineers and architects to ensure compliance with building regulations
  • Handling building regulation applications and liaising with building control
  • Reviewing drawings against approved building regulation submissions
  • Ensuring fire risk assessments are incorporated into design decisions
  • Working closely with the technical and project teams to ensure compliance and quality standards
What we're looking for:
  • Proven experience managing design on high-rise residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, building control processes, and fire safety compliance
  • Experience appointing and managing consultants
  • Confident working independently and managing a project from start to finish
  • Willingness to travel to sites in London occasionally
