Role Overview

The Design Manager will coordinate all consultants, manage design documentation, and ensure full compliance with

Building Regulations

and the

Building Safety Act

. This pivotal role requires a proactive leader with a deep understanding of residential high-rise design and the ability to liaise effectively with regulators, consultants, and construction teams.

Duties

Design Coordination

o Manage and integrate the work of architects, structural engineers, fire engineers, and other consultants.

o Oversee production, review, and approval of all design documentation.

o Ensure information is fully coordinated, compliant, and issued on time.

Regulatory Compliance

o Act as primary liaison with

Building Control

,

HSE

, and the

Building Safety Regulator (BSR)

.

o Manage

Building Safety Act submissions

(Gateways 2 & 3).

o Maintain compliance and audit records to support the "Golden Thread" of information.

Documentation & Record Keeping

o Implement document control systems to manage drawings, revisions, and approvals.

o Keep comprehensive construction and compliance records for regulatory sign-off.

Construction & Delivery Support

o Work with the site team to resolve design queries.

o Coordinate design changes and issue updated drawings promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement

o Act as the bridge between consultants, contractors, regulators, and Redsky Homes Group.

o Provide regular progress and risk reports to senior management.

Skills

Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent).

5+ years' experience

in design management or a similar role on

residential high-rise / Build-to-Rent projects

. Strong knowledge of

UK Building Regulations

, the

Building Safety Act

, and

fire safety compliance

Proven track record coordinating multiple consultants. Experience liaising with Building Control, HSE, and BSR. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Familiarity with design coordination and document management tools (e.g. BIM, Aconex, Viewpoint)

Pay: 65,000.00-80,000.00 per year
