Based in Bolton, Sutton Creative is a family owned company with a team of highly skilled creative specialists. We create signage and bespoke lighting features for clients throughout the whole of the UK with well known brands, high street names and corporate clients amongst our portfolio.

We have an immediate vacancy for a Design Technician to join our team. Transforming client briefs and concept designs into technically accurate and manufacturable signage solutions. Working directly with the Project Management Team, this role takes the lead from design intent and uses engineering knowledge to execute drawings with structural integrity, compliance and ease of installation.

Previous experience of working within the signage industry would be an advantage

Key Duties will involve:

Create detailed technical drawings and production ready designs for a variety of signage types (illuminated, architectural, digital, totem etc) and bespoke lighting

Interpret design briefs, sketches and architectural plans to develop engineering focused solutions

Collaborate with project managers, sales, production and installation team to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness and compliance

Generate 2D drawings using illustrator software - 3D design experience would be advantageous

Integrate lighting, wiring and other technical components into signage or lighting structure design where applicable

Produce comprehensive fabrication drawings in collaboration with the Project managers and the factory teams

. Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients, engineers and fabrication teams.

Key Attributes required

:

Proven experience in an engineering design or technical drafting role. Preferably within the signage, construction or manufacturing industry.

. Proficient in design software, eg CAD, Illustrator, Coreldraw, Flexisign etc..

. Strong understanding of materials, fabrication methods and structural design

. Knowledge of illumination techniques and integration

. Familiarity with signage standards and installation practices

. Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality

. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

. Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders

. Relevant qualifications in engineering design, product design or a related technical field
