SHIFT Active Media is looking for a talented Designer with a strong craft-led and digital-first approach to join our creative team.
You'll work across our full client portfolio, collaborating with designers, strategists, account managers, media and production teams to deliver high-quality creative work for some of the most respected brands in cycling and active lifestyles. This role suits someone who loves great design, enjoys variety, and wants to make work they're genuinely proud of.
The role
As a Designer at SHIFT, you'll contribute to a wide range of creative projects - from digital and social campaigns to video, print, branding and direct-to-consumer work. You'll support the Head of Design and play an important role in maintaining our high creative standards, delivering work that's thoughtful, effective and on brand.
This is a hands-on role in a collaborative studio environment. The work is varied, fast-paced and creatively challenging.
Working pattern:
This role is primarily office-based, with 4 days per week in our Bath studio during standard business hours.
What you'll be doing
Design creative across digital, social, motion, branding and print channels.
Take projects from concept through to final delivery, ensuring quality, consistency and attention to detail.
Contribute ideas and concepts for campaigns, pitches and proposals.
Produce artwork, layouts and image manipulation for advertising and marketing communications.
Support the creation of presentations, proposals and showreels.
Source or create photography, illustration and graphic assets as required.
Develop marketing and brand collateral that supports SHIFT's visual identity.
Collaborate closely with colleagues across creative, account management, media, PR, social and production teams.
Champion high creative standards and contribute to evolving our creative processes.
About you
We're open to designers from a range of backgrounds, but this role is best suited to someone with solid agency experience who enjoys working across disciplines. You're likely to be a good fit if you have:
Strong design craft across digital, print and motion.
Confidence using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
Experience designing for digital platforms and an understanding of how design translates across different formats and channels.
The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with care and organisation.
A flexible, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
Curiosity and openness to learning new tools, workflows and technologies (including AI-assisted processes).
A portfolio that demonstrates strong ideas, attention to detail and executional quality.
An interest in cycling or active lifestyles is a bonus, but not essential.
Experience
Agency experience is important for this role; around
3+ years
is a useful guideline, but we're more interested in the quality of your work and your potential than a fixed number of years.
Experience with HTML5 or lightweight development is a bonus, but not essential.
