Designer

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We're the London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), a charitable social enterprise that puts purpose before profit. That means everything we do, from branding to brochures, impact reports to animations helps tell a bigger story: giving more children across London the best possible start in life.

As the first dedicated Designer in our growing Marketing team, you'll have the rare opportunity to shape the visual direction of one of London's most respected social enterprises. You won't just produce great work, you'll own your workflow, help build the design function from the ground up, and have real freedom to influence how we communicate our impact through creativity.

What it feels like to be in this role

You'll be the go-to creative lead for all things design, someone who can take a brief and turn it into something beautiful, clear, and distinctly LEYF.

You'll work across brand marketing, staff recruitment campaigns, and nursery occupancy materials, making sure everything we create is on-brand and emotionally resonant. Whether it's laying out our Annual Report, producing a recruitment pack, or building a toolkit for nursery teams, your work will help us stand out as a bold, values-driven organisation.

You'll also take ownership of our major corporate publications and visual content for digital channels and have the space to bring fresh, thoughtful ideas to the table.

You'll take the lead on:

Creating consistent, compelling materials across all channels, from nursery brochures and internal comms to animated reels and job ads Applying and evolving LEYF's visual identity, ensuring consistency in tone, style and presentation Developing branded templates and toolkits to support our teams across the organisation Designing high-impact flagship documents - including our Annual Report, Gender Pay Gap Report, and Green LEYF Impact Report Managing layout, production timelines, and collaborating with writers, printers and proofreaders Owning our image libraries, icons, templates and asset folders Ensuring everything is accessible and easy to use by wider teams Creating digital-first content - from short videos and GIFs to social media graphics and animations Contributing to a visual content calendar aligned with wider campaigns

We think you'll love this role if you:

Have a strong portfolio of design work across both print and digital formats Are confident using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) An interest in other media, including video creation, is a plus Have experience designing corporate publications or working on reports with multiple stakeholders Love organising assets and keeping creative files tidy and accessible Enjoy working on projects with purpose - ideally with experience in a non-profit, education or values-driven organisation

Why join LEYF?

We don't just talk about purpose, we live it. As a social enterprise with 43 nurseries across London, every penny we make goes back into our mission to ensure every child has access to high-quality early education, regardless of their background.

That means your design work really matters, whether you're helping us attract passionate teachers, promote nursery places to families, or publish research that influences the future of the sector.

You'll also be joining a kind, collaborative, and values-led team who care deeply about doing great work and doing it together.

7% pension contribution from LEYF

70% childcare discount
