Job Description

We are hiring for two Design Engineer positions.



You will work within the design team delivering pre- and post-contract designs for specialist working-at-height solutions, including fall protection, abseil and suspended access systems, guardrails, stairs, ladders, roof walkways and bespoke architectural and structural metalwork.

The role focuses on producing high-quality technical drawings for client approval, developing concepts generated by our sales team or your own ideas, and taking designs through to full fabrication drawings for manufacture.

This opportunity suits a driven, detail-focused designer who enjoys teamwork, problem-solving and technical drawing, and who wants hands-on experience delivering first-class solutions for industry-leading clients on some of the UK's most prestigious construction projects.

As a Designer, you will be responsible for:



Interpret customer requirements via communicating with ESL sales department and client to produce design approval drawings. Liaise and communicate with contractors and architects directly to comprehensively understand project deliverables and design programme requirements Interpretation of design standards and regulations to inform design proposals Liaise and communicate with engineers to inform and substantiate design proposals Lead projects through the design phase liaising with the relevant Managers accordingly to ascertain pertinent design information Produce accurately detailed fabrication drawings to allow the fabrication of a structurally sound, bespoke product manufactured from the correctly specified materials Liaise with fabricators when required during the manufacturing stage to ensure that the designs are accurately realised Be commercially minded enough to analyse and arrive at the most cost-effective solution General drawing office administrative duties as and when required. Attendance of design meetings at site, client's offices, video conference when required.

The ideal candidate will be:



2D AutoCAD - Essential. 3D AutoCAD/Inventor/Revit - Advantageous but not essential. Proven working design experience in the Construction Industry Fabrication drawing background. Ideally in the steel fabrication / architectural metalwork industry. Experience of working to design standards. Understand manufacturing technologies, processes techniques and installation procedures. Use of in-house systems and standard drawing office procedures for design processes. Proven experience of working to deadlines and programme. Willing to go above and beyond to achieve high level results Site surveying experience advantageous. Strong team mentality
