About the role
We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Desk-Based Account Manager to join our busy insulation sales team based at our offices in Gravesend. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with customers, handling incoming enquiries, and helping grow revenue through outstanding service and account development. You'll also support broader commercial activities, including market research and input into new product ideas, helping the business stay ahead of trends and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Support:
Manage a portfolio of existing customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and regular repeat business, working closely with our External Sales Teams.
Handle incoming enquiries, prepare quotes, follow up, and convert leads into orders.
Identify opportunities to grow accounts through upselling and cross-selling related insulation products or services.
Work closely with the field sales team to ensure a joined-up approach to customer accounts.
Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, including quotes, orders, and customer interactions.
Marketing & Product Development:
Conduct outbound calls to both new and existing customers to promote products and services, while supporting marketing campaigns and new product development initiatives.
Support the development and launch of new products by offering frontline input on what customers are asking for and how products are received.
Work closely with the marketing department on campaigns to promote BEWI products and services.
Keep up to date with what's happening in the insulation and wider construction market, including customer trends, competitor activity, and product innovations.
Gather customer feedback and share insights with the commercial and product teams.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work with our internal teams as and when required to deliver exceptional customer service.
Contribute to monthly sales reviews and help track performance against targets
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a sales or account management role, ideally in construction, trade, or B2B environments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build great relationships over the phone and by email.
Commercially aware, with an interest in what's happening in the market and what customers care about.
Comfortable working with sales targets and performance metrics.
Organised, self-motivated, and confident using basic IT tools (e.g. Outlook, Excel, CRM systems).
Desirable:
Some familiarity with the construction industry or building materials market (full product training will be provided).
Experience working with merchants, contractors, or developers.

Exceptional customer relationship management skills, with a proven ability to quickly build rapport with our customer base and maintain it over the long term through excellent service.

Decisive and calm under pressure, capable of making sound judgments through challenging situations while maintaining a customer-first approach.
