Lift plants from named nursery location to a specified grade, pot size, variety, quantity, and format as quickly and efficiently for our amenity + retail customers. Essential Job Functions
Complete all routine tractor checks and record on maintenance sheets. Report any faults to Container Despatch manager/Supervisor who will then inform the workshop of any issues.
Take note of one-way systems and give way at the end of roadways.
When driving you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
Always take the next bundle from the stacker. Write name and load on board and customer name on completed trailer.
Lift orders as detailed on pick labels ensuring correct location, Quantity, Pot size variety and grade.
Clearly lay out plants with pick labels to prevent confusion when putting them on the line
Return problem pick labels to Container Despatch manager/Supervisor.
Train staff as required.
Grading and weeding also to be undertaken.
Normal working hours Monday -Thursday 07.50-16.30, Friday 07.50- 15.30. NB In peak season earlier starts/later finishes/some weekends and bank holidays are required.
You will be required to work summer hours.
You will be required to work earlier or later at short notice if pot volumes dictate
KPI figures are always monitored.
Attendance and timekeeping are always monitored closely.
You will be required to work in other departments when required.
This position needs all staff to be flexible for working additional hours at short notice
Qualifications
Tractor driver - desirable
Forklift truck driver - desirable
