Job Summary

Hitherbest is a successful sheet-metal fabrication business, based in Telford, that has been trading for 40 years. We are looking for a despatch operative to join our friendly Goods In/Out team.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working in a factory environment. They will have an understanding of engineering drawings, be well organised and show attention to detail. They will be skilled at manual handling and hold a fork-lift truck licence.

Responsibilities

To identify (pick) the various parts of customer orders To check parts match customer requirements, by referencing engineering drawings, and raise a non-conformance (NCR) if a discrepancy is identified To assemble goods, according to engineering drawings, ready for packing To carefully package goods ready for delivery and process paperwork To scan completed route cards allowing managers to track order progress To load completed orders into storage facilities or onto vehicles, as directed To accept goods delivered to premises and store in booking in area for logging To keep a clean, tidy and organised working area, including the Goods In/Out yard, storage containers and industrial unit.

Requirements

This is a physically demanding role and any job offer will be subject to an occupational health assessment An understanding of written English and a basic level of mathematics is essential for this position The post-holder must be able to work in a team or independently.
