Job Summary

The Despatch Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within an established carboard packaging business. This position requires strong organistaional skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality. The Despatch Supervisor will be responsible for taking in deliveries, booking product out, stock keeping and general organisation. The role operates an alternating shift pattern of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00. Occasional weekend overtime may also be required which is paid at a premium rate.

Duties

Taking in deliveries and booking in product. Preparing finished goods for despatch and booking transport for them. Liaising with transport and customers over delivery details. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the despatch and warehouse area, adhering to health and safety standards. Mainitaing and tracking financial information related to transport and storage costs. Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including inventory usage and stock levels.

Qualifications

Proven experience in supervisory role within a warehousing environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing. Experience in lean manufacturing techniques is advantageous. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with customers and staff alike. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. An up to date FLT licence is essential.
