Full Time:

Monday to Friday - 7am - 3:30pm

Salary:

13.52 P/H

Holiday:

29 days per annum (includes Bank Holidays)

Reports to:

Operations Manager

Purpose of the job:

The Despatch supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager to ensure stock is despatched in the most efficient way possible and in line with the business objectives. They will liaise closely with the Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth running of the department. They will be responsible for the first line management of Despatch operatives.

Key Responsibilities:




First line management of all despatch operators.

Report any issues/problems that may impact customer deliveries arriving in full and on time to the despatch manager.

Ensure that all despatch staff are fully aware of Health & Safety and Quality Policies

Along with the Operations Manager lead the team in despatch area to deliver first class service to all our customers and achieving all business goals

Assist the Operations Manager in the development of team to ensure key skills and competency in place to meet business needs

Responsible for making sure all product is correctly and safely loaded according to the delivery notes.

Report any health and safety concerns to the despatch manager.

Follow strict health and safety guidelines and company standards.

Help identify and where necessary work with others to resolve issues and bottlenecks.

Help maintain quality standards in the warehouse and yard housekeeping are of the highest standard.

Ensure all required documentation is completed correctly and on time.

Lead by example through a can-do attitude and commitment to seeing the job through.

Willingness to undertake further training as and when required.

Capable of managing the despatch department when the Operations Manager is off site.

The ideal candidate requirements:





Experience in managing a small team in a fast-paced environment.


Must be proficient in Microsoft office.

A good communicator able to give clear instructions to their team and liaise with senior management.

FLT counter balance preferred.
