Job Overview

A dessert retail staff member is responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, preparing and serving a variety of sweet treats like ice cream, cakes, pastries, and waffles, managing stock levels, maintaining a clean and inviting store environment, and ensuring a positive customer experience within a dessert shop or kiosk. Key responsibilities may include:

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and engage in friendly conversation. Accurately take orders and explain menu items. Process payments efficiently using the point-of-sale system. Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.

Dessert Preparation:

Scoop ice cream according to portion sizes. Prepare and assemble desserts like waffles, crepes, and milkshakes as per recipe. Slice cakes and pastries neatly. Maintain proper food handling and hygiene standards

Stock Management:

Monitor inventory levels of desserts and ingredients. Rotate stock to ensure freshness Replenish stock as needed by placing orders with suppliers

Store Operations:

Maintain cleanliness of the serving area, counters, and display cases. Properly store and rotate desserts according to expiry dates Assist with opening and closing procedures including cash handling Adhere to health and safety regulations
