We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part Time Detached Street Based Youth Worker. Working in the Borough of Waltham Forest, East London, This role involves engaging with young people in various community settings, providing support, guidance, and mentorship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth work and a commitment to fostering positive relationships with children and adolescents. Duties

Build trusting relationships with young people to encourage their personal development and well-being. Provide mentoring and support tailored to individual needs, helping them navigate challenges. Facilitate group activities and workshops that promote social skills, teamwork, and self-esteem. Collaborate with schools, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to youth support. Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress while adhering to confidentiality protocols. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills in youth work and special education.

Experience

Previous experience working with children or young people in a teaching or mentoring capacity is essential. Familiarity with special education practices is highly desirable. Experience in youth work settings will be an advantage, demonstrating the ability to connect with diverse groups of young individuals. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate and build rapport with both young people and their families. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to adapt approaches based on individual needs is crucial.
