As a Development Accountant, you'll beresponsible for reviewing accounts, maintaining financial records, and preparing regular forecasts for our development entities. You will support the year-end process by preparing audit schedules and ensuring our reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with external requirements. In this role, you will also support and coach analysts and graduates in the team, sharing your expertise to enhance the wider team's capabilities.
You're a proactive problem-solver, able to independently manage complex accounting issues as they arise. You will also ensure that the structure of our projects is properly accounted for by maintaining accurate delivery routes and applying the correct use of entities. The role requires you to support large-scale and high-risk projects as a financial lead when needed, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
You'll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver detailed and timely reconciliations, produce accurate performance data that supports informed decision-making, and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You'll be expected to step in for the Finance Manager when required and support junior team members by providing clear direction and oversight.

To be successful in this role, you're:
Passionate about implementing best practice and maintaining robust financial controls
Able to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure, especially during peak periods like year-end
Ideally CCAB qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
Experienced in preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and carrying out analytical reviews
Familiar with accounting software, with knowledge of Sun Systems considered an advantage
