The starting salary for this 18-month, fixed-term position is \xc2\xa366,774 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

This role reports directly to the Director and five Assistant Directors for Family Resilience and Safeguarding and will form a key part of the Leadership team. Family Resilience and Safeguarding covers the Early Help System, statutory social work, Youth Services and Youth Justice and Children with Disabilities; all of these services are going through significant improvement journeys.

Your role? To support the Director and Assistant Directors to deliver continuous improvement across the statutory services, overseeing development plans ensuring they complement each other and that they align with the values and principles of the Family Safeguarding model.

Your role will require careful negotiation and development work with key partner agencies such as Police, Health, Education, District and Boroughs and more. You will also offer coaching and development to the Assistant Directors and Service Managers on project delivery.

As our Project Lead, you will deliver complex programmes across multiple services, adapting approaches to reflect opportunities and working practices in various teams. This will include managing complex and sensitive negotiations of contracts and deployment with large budgets and critical service providers and partner agencies.

Here are the qualities, skills & experiences we are looking for in our Project Lead:
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification plus experience in a specialist area, at management level, in a demanding business environment
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles of change management, project management and continuous improvement, and their practical application
  • Substantial experience in successful leading, motivating, coaching, mentoring and developing staff
