Development Finance Manager
to join our Finance team. In this pivotal role, you'll act as a strategic business partner to our Development directorate, providing financial insight, leadership, and challenge to support the delivery of our ambitious development programme.
You'll lead a small team, manage financial reporting and planning processes, and play a key role in shaping the future of affordable housing across the South West.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering:
Provide expert financial support and challenge to the Development directorate.
Team Leadership:
Manage and inspire a team of accountants, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
Financial Reporting:
Own the month-end process and deliver accurate, insightful management reports.
Strategic Planning:
Lead the production of the 30-year business plan for Development.
Forecasting and Analysis:
Review and challenge project cashflows and sales forecasts to ensure robust financial assumptions.
Governance and Compliance:
Prepare reports for committees and boards, and ensure timely regulatory returns.
Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work flexibly across teams, contributing to wider business initiatives and projects.

This role is being offered on a full permanent basis. Hybrid working is available for this role, working 2-3 days per week in the office, depending on business need.

Development Finance Manager - Candidate Requirements
To be successful in your application for the role of
Development Finance Manager
, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 3 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical and commercial acumen.
Experienced in financial planning, reporting, and business partnering--ideally within housing, property, or development sectors.
A confident communicator, able to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proficient in MS Excel and financial systems, with a keen eye for detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
A collaborative leader with a positive, adaptable approach and a passion for making a difference.
