PURPOSE STATEMENT

Hands on role working with a dedicated and innovative R&D team from product concept to launch. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver projects on time to the highest possible standards for our customers. This is an all encompassing role covering both proactive platform innovation projects as well as the delivery of customer led briefs through the development of new product from kitchen concepts to a successful launch to market.

This role is a fixed term contract for 9 months



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Interpretation and delivery of customer brief to agreed cost model and customer needs Plan, manage and deliver new product development projects from concept to launch, meeting internal and external customer project deadlines Liaise with raw materials suppliers to source new raw materials where necessary and ensure that MOQ's lead time and shelf life support the product feasibility Prepare kitchen samples as required and present new product internally and to customers Maintain accurate, up to date records from kitchen trials to project progression Prepare costings, nutritional and ingredient declarations for customer submissions
Complete customer submission forms
Support the scale up of kitchen samples to factory trials. Prepare all factory trials documentation according to department protocol. Carry out shelf life validation from factory trial including the appropriate organoleptic and merchandising testing Interface frequently with various internal departments (e.g. Sales, Procurement, Operations and FSQA) and customers in accomplishing project milestones. Work closely with allocated customer by forming close working relationships to truly understand and deliver their needs Understand the complexity of recipe and assembly as it relates to the manufacturing line as well as the impact of the cost structure of the overall product

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

CRITICAL



Degree educated or equivalent in a food disciple. With a minimum of 4 years' experience within a food manufacturing environmentStrong experience working with major UK retailers Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment Solid PC proficiency (Excel, Word, database, statistical software) and the ability to create spreadsheets, compute analysis, report writing. Proficient with relevant software tools (e.g. PLM, etc.) Ability to compare and distinguish differences in ingredients, materials, etc. through taste, smell, touch and visual inspection
