As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Creative Designer with proven experience in conceptual design & product development to join our team managing the journey from concepts to sample approval or new product launching, ensuring they are both functional and aesthetically compelling.

Job Role and Responsibilities



The Development & NPD Designer leads the full journey from design brief or concept idea through to prototype and sample approval -- overseeing both client-led project development and internal new product development (NPD) initiatives.

This role combines creative problem-solving, technical development expertise, and understanding of production, to transform design intent into commercially viable, manufacturable products.

Acting as a technical bridge between creative, engineering, and production teams, the designer ensures design integrity, feasibility, and innovation throughout the development process.

We are looking for a committed self-starter with a positive problem-solving outlook. You are someone who is at ease discussing projects with key stakeholders at all levels internally and externally and willing to pitch in where needed, as the team here grows and goes from strength to strength.

POS & Fixture Development

Interpret and refine client briefs and develop creative and technical design solutions for?retail POS displays, fixtures, and fittings. Produce?detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and prototypes?for approval. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of designs. Conduct?material research and selection, ensuring sustainability, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Manage prototype production from concept/brief, through design, development, to final prototype production, liaising with suppliers and manufacturers for material sourcing and fabrication. Refine designs based on feedback, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and retailer specifications. Obtain quotes from suppliers for prototype and production for UK business opportunities and projects, co-ordinating with the internal sales and admin teams for support. Occasionally collaborate and manage site work or installation Ensure a smooth handover to the production team with detailed documentation and technical specifications following successful and approved design/prototyping works.
New Product Development

Work directly with the?senior team?and the wider global development team to?develop and prototype new products, identifying opportunities for innovation in retail display solutions. Conduct?market research and competitor analysis?to inform new product concepts and material trends, with the wider development team. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align new product development with business strategy and client needs. Drive creative brainstorming sessions, contributing fresh ideas and technical insights. Oversee prototype testing and refinement, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in Retail Display Fixture and Fittings, Bespoke displays Strong understanding of materials (cardboard, plastics, metal, joinery, technology products) and manufacturing processes. Ability to collaborate with sales, production, and project management teams. Experience in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for creating technical drawings and 3D models and rendering. Strong understanding of the retail sector and brands. Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines. Knowledge of print production processes.
