Is a leading independent provider of subsea fibre optic connectivity solutions offering a broad range of services including consultancy, subsea cable engineering, installation and maintenance, covering the lifespan of a subsea fibre optic cable system which is delivered to customers worldwide. SubConnect is one of our three business units with a primary focus on manufacturing, supplying and testing subsea jointing solutions.


About the role:

This role is a part-time, fixed term contract for a 12 month maternity cover. It includes delivering high-quality administrative support to the SubConnect Development Team and contributing to smooth daily operations by supporting the external sales of training services, cable qualification, and testing solutions.


Key Deliverables:




To assist with the preparation of quotations for inhouse training and test house along with development work. Assist with managing the day-to-day interface with SubConnect customers. Responsible for contract management including order processing/acknowledgement from order receipt through to project completion, ensuring timely customer invoicing. Close liaison with Accounts Receivable and Credit Control regarding customer accounts. Provide support to the SubConnect Product Sales Team, this may include overtime for additional days for longer holiday cover. If required liaising with shipping agents and providing day to day after sales support. Provide the team with assistance during holiday/sickness of the SubConnect Project Administrator. Assist with any other reasonable department tasks. Follow safe working practices and ensure compliance by others, including customers.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Required:




Strong attention to detail. A very good working knowledge of MS Suite especially Word & Excel. Proficiency in using IT systems. Ambassadorial and courteous with a desire to continuously improve levels of customer service. Must be able to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision. Flexibility and willingness to switch disciplines in order to maximise efficiency. Must be within reasonable commuting distance to the office. Full driving license due to location of the office.

Ideal:

Experience of working with a diverse, multi-cultural customer base.
The working pattern will consist of three days at five hours per day or four hours at four days.

This role will be based at our Chelmsford office, and offers a hybrid working pattern, with specific days to be discussed and agreed.

The successful candidate will start early 2026.
