The Team
The CBRE Planning and Development team across the north comprises 20 Chartered Surveyors and Town Planners providing integrated development management, land promotion, financial viability, public funding and finance, and regeneration services to private sector, public sector and partnership clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us in Manchester and work on major projects across the UK with a clear structured pathway for career development and progression.
This role is focused within financial viability, public funding and finance, and regeneration. The team is instructed on major projects including:
? Stockport Town Centre East: a Strategic Regeneration Framework for 133 ha site in Stockport Town Centre unlocking 4,000 new homes and mixed-use development opportunities.
? Business Cases: preparation of cases for major funding programmes to Combined Authorities and Homes England across regions.
? Worcestershire Parkway New Community: a 10,000 home new settlement identified as a Government 'accelerator' project.
? CIS Tower, Manchester: market, options and financial viability appraisal for this listed heritage asset and landmark building.
? Chorlton District Centre: residential-led redevelopment of outdated shopping centre in conjunction with PJ Livesey and GMPF.
? Stoke-on-Trent City Centre: preparation of a mixed-use regeneration scheme in collaboration with Genr8 Kajima.
Key Responsibilities
? Assemble and work with multi-disciplinary professional teams to complete feasibility studies, options appraisals, business cases and public funding bids.
? Prepare Regeneration and Development Framework Strategies.
? Analyse funding, delivery and disposal options for public sector land.
? Prepare financial appraisals, gap funding analysis, financial viability assessments and S106 affordable housing, CIL and planning obligations advice.
? Undertake financial modelling for strategic sites, regeneration projects and new settlements.
? Prepare overage, clawback and financial review mechanisms, analysis and advice.
? Undertake economic impact assessments and affordable housing need and demand analysis for new development projects.
? Undertake site inspections, client, stakeholder and project meetings.
? Prepare oral and written client advice, presentations and reporting.
? Day-to-day financial and management responsibility for projects.
? Identify, develop and pursue new business development opportunities in a range of sectors working in conjunction with Directors and the wider team.
? Work with senior team members to shape and lead client pitches and proposals for new instructions.
? Participate in networking activities and marketing.
Person Specification
? Chartered Surveyor (RICS) or Town Planner (MRTPI) with experience in development, regeneration, public funding, valuation, economic or viability analysis.
? Dynamic, enthusiastic, flexible and commercially astute with excellent interpersonal skills.
? Good client relationship management skills and comfortable at presenting to clients.
Good interpersonal skills, a genuine belief in collaboration and a clear ability to lead and inspire others.
? Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
? Strong attention to detail, commitment to achieving high quality client deliverables and hands-on involvement in the shaping and review of client deliverables and other outputs.
? Able to manage and coordinate the input and activities of other professionals within project design teams, give advice and direction, and make decisions.
? The ability to multi-task, work to tight timescales, often under challenging circumstances, with minimal supervision and to a high standard.
? Willingness and/or ability to identify and nurture new business opportunities.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong financial and analytical abilities.
? Confident team player able to work well with colleagues and clients.
? Experience or familiarity with Argus Developer software (or equivalents).
