, you will be a
Development Technician
within our Product Development group.
Reporting to Director, PT Product Development - Synchronous Belts. The Development Technician plays a key role in supporting Gates' product development and material change projects for industrial belts. You will analyse customer and test centre belt returns, lead investigative activities, and support the creation and maintenance of material and product specifications.
Working closely with global PDG teams, quality assurance, and applications engineering, you will contribute to customer-specific projects, ensuring robust testing, validation, and commercialisation of new solutions. This is a highly collaborative, technical role with the opportunity to engage with global customers and suppliers while helping to shape the next generation of Gates products.

ABOUT YOU
Required Experience:
Educated to "Higher" level or equivalent in relevant subjects such as English, Mathematics, Sciences, and Technical qualifications.
Background in materials, testing, or mechanical engineering is desirable.
Experience within manufacturing, mechanical engineering or product development/testing would be an advantage.
Required Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate results and recommend solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Highly organised with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Collaborative, with strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or within a global team.
