Deisel Engine Technician Wanted

Temporary to Permanent and / or Permanent Position (Based on Experience)

Basic Annual Salary: 38,000 (based on a 35-hour week).

Annual On Target Earnings: 55,000 (inclusive of average overtime).

Shift Patterns

are fluid due to workloads and 48-hour notice of work, you could work weekends and or weekdays, so you will need to be flexible.

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled professional, responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel locomotive stock. This is a full-time role.

You will work with various components to ensure optimal performance and safety. The successful applicant should be a safety conscious and motivated self-starter, a fully versatile team member who has well established experience within a railway maintenance depot environment or a similar engineering background.

This role involves utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, following safety guidelines, and collaborating with other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to health & safety, and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Ensure company engineering standards and procedures are applied and followed. Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives in accordance with approved maintenance plans. Ensure accurate and comprehensive recording of maintenance and defect / repair information are kept up to date in accordance with legislative requirements and company instructions. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Commitment to safe working practices. Apprentice trained or time served. Experience in electrical and / or mechanical maintenance activities. Knowledge of rolling stock would be advantageous. Must hold a relevant Engineering qualification at Level 3.
