Digital Accounting & Outsourcing Manager - Forward-thinking Accountancy Firm
Cambridge or City of London (Hybrid | Multi-site)
45,000 - 65,000 DOE
Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a growing and progressive accountancy firm in the recruitment of a Digital Accounting & Outsourcing Manager. This is a newly created role driven by continued growth and increasing demand for outsourced accounting and digital finance solutions.
This opportunity would suit a cloud accounting subject matter expert who enjoys managing outsourced client relationships, leading software implementations, and supporting clients through digital transformation. You'll work closely with clients, internal teams, and senior stakeholders to drive adoption and optimisation of cloud accounting platforms.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients
  • Lead cloud accounting software and system implementations
  • Support clients with digital finance transformation and process improvement
  • Act as a subject matter expert across cloud accounting and finance software
  • Engage with clients to understand requirements and recommend solutions
  • Deliver management information including cash flow forecasts and budgets
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients on digital solutions
  • Support, mentor, and develop junior team members
Key Requirements
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting clients
  • Strong experience implementing systems i.e., cloud accounting and finance software
  • Advanced systems knowledge of Xero and wider cloud app ecosystems
  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or part-qualified considered)
  • Experience supporting digital transformation and change initiatives
  • Understanding of UK tax and MTD requirements
  • Exposure to automation, AI, and emerging finance technologies
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
