The Digital and IT PKI Technical Specialist (Level 2) is a key influencer in the strategic cryptographic vision and roadmap implementation for the technology area(s) and Business Functions they support. This position works directly with project leaders, technical and business analysts for planning, execution, and support of information technology solutions. The Digital and IT PKI Technical Specialist leverages knowledge in several technical and business disciplines to collaborate with peers in deploying highly secure and resilient cryptographic information technology solutions. This position works with the Security Enterprise Manager/Director to help set enterprise goals and technology targets.
Responsibilities
Assist in design and maintenance of highly available CA/RA hierarchies (offline roots, issuing CAs, Possible HSM integration)
Define crypto standards (key lengths, algorithms, lifetimes) aligned to NIST 800-57, CAB/F, and industry regulations
Assist to set enterprise standards for day-to-day PKI services (Microsoft AD CS, EJBCA, Venafi experience helpful)
Support to automate certificate lifecycle (enrollment, renewal, revocation) via REST, SCEP, EST, ACME
Enforce key management controls (secrets management, etc.)
Assist in security incident response as needed (e.g., rogue issuance, key compromise, algorithm deprecation)
Perform regular crypto health assessments and risk modeling
Embed certificate services into CI/CD, container platforms (Kubernetes, etc.), and zero trust architectures
Support MDM / EMM for mobile cert distribution and IoT manufacturing onboarding
Proactively anticipates changes, makes recommendations to leadership, leads and implements change within team
Demonstrates a high degree of emotional intelligence and organizational awareness
Completes root cause analysis of issues and decisively leads problem resolution
Build trust with business partners and stakeholders through strength of translating complex technical solutions to non-technical language
Proficient in IT life-cycle management methodologies, including design, development, testing, project management and change management
Able to interpret business requirements effectively that can translate to information technology solutions
Responsible for regional or global support of public key infrastructure technical solutions or business applications spanning multiple technologies or business functions
Responsible for architectural runway emergence in design and system development reducing technical debt
Works with identified business units to develop innovative IT solutions to fit business needs
Responsible & Accountable for team members implementing Parker Values & building a trust-based relationship throughout the team
Ability to adapt written/verbal/presentation material and style, depending on audience and environment
Effectively communicates technical issues to project team members and management
Available to provide after-hours technical support as needed
Rare business travel may be required
Qualifications
Qualifications
4-year University / College Degree and significant technical / business certifications
8+ years in information security; 5+ years hands on PKI engineering at scale (preferred large scale IoT PKI (manufacturing, automotive, etc.)
Technical Expertise - Deep knowledge of X.509, CRL/OCSP, CT logs, SMIME, TLS, codesigning, and key management
Preferred Cryptographic agility / postquantum transition planning experience
Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
Ability to maintain professional and strong relationships with business partners, contractors, and stakeholders
Experience in security best practices and compliancy requirements for area of expertise
