Job Description

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Digital Business Analyst for a 6 Month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in Leeds or Manchester.



As a Business Analyst working within the Analytics function, you will play a key role in delivering change across the department. You will work across the product delivery lifecycle to bring together business needs with technical and data capabilities, with the goal of defining solutions that deliver value.



As a Digital Business Analyst your main responsibilities will be to:

Translate business problems and user needs into detailed, actionable requirements that drive value and positive outcomes. Lead workshops, interviews, focus groups and utilise other techniques to effectively understand the business problems and user needs. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment on requirements and acceptance criteria. Develop a deep understanding of relevant business processes, using best practice techniques to model and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with the Product Manager and technical teams to define and prioritise epics, features, and user stories for each sprint. Bring a user-centered design (UCD) mindset to a predominantly technical environment, helping teams refocus on user and business value.

Essential:

Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong track record of delivering across the full analysis lifecycle. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to build trusted relationships across technical and non-technical teams. Experience working in data and analytics environments, ideally alongside data scientists or technical teams. Proficient in a wide range of analysis techniques to understand and solve complex business and user problems. Ability to apply user-centered design (UCD) principles, ensuring solutions are aligned with user and business needs. Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate requirements, processes, and outcomes to diverse audiences.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
