Salary: 29,421 - 35,017 per annum
Hours: 35 (Flexible working, with some weekend or evening working by prior agreement)
Location: Glasgow
Responsibilities

  • Producing materials for new and traditional forms of media that effectively convey my aims to the general public and media.
  • Maintaining and growing social media presence.
  • Creating and editing high-quality video content for multiplatform communications.
  • Creating original content on social media including but not limited to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
  • Drafting and posting social media content to update constituents on my parliamentary activities.
  • Producing high quality press briefings, speeches and written materials.
  • Producing engaging graphics and digital assets for publishing in line with the MSPs weekly communications schedule.
  • Following traditional and new media outlets to capture relevant developments as they happen.
  • Maintaining information systems to support communications
  • Corresponding with constituents and local campaign groups.
  • Keeping up to date with current media developments.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Reviewing social media trends and briefing me in issues of relevance to my parliamentary role
Requirements
Essential
  • Have an interest in politics with the confidence to represent someone in a media-related capacity.
  • Be capable in monitoring media developments and sourcing information from a range of channels.
  • Have the ability to foster good working relationships with confidence to understand how the media world operates.
  • Experience in using social media apps to create and publish original content.
  • Experience in using social media scheduling apps.
Desirable
  • Experience in video and / or digital content creation in a formal or paid role.
  • Experience managing social media accounts in a formal or paid role.
  • An original approach to content creation mindful of working environment and expectations.
  • Knowledge of creating graphics and other templates using platforms such as Adobe, Canva or similar.
