About Care England

Care England, a registered charity, is the leading voice of adult social care providers in England. Representing members who deliver care and support to over 120,000 people along with a wide range of services, Care England supports those providing care for older people, individuals with long-term conditions, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and autism.

As the collective voice of our members and the broader care sector, Care England champions a united, quality-driven, and independent sector that prioritises choice, value for money, and exceptional care standards.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Digital Communications Manager to lead the transformation and growth of Care England's digital presence and external communications. Sitting at the intersection of our Policy and Membership teams, this role is crucial to amplifying our voice across the adult social care sector and beyond.

You'll take ownership of all social media channels - LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram - and set up new platforms as appropriate (e.g., TikTok), managing and delivering a consistent flow of engaging, insightful, and strategic content that reflects both the challenges and successes of the care sector. You'll also oversee the Care England website to ensure our digital presence is cohesive, accessible, and aligned across all platforms.

This role is about storytelling, strategy, visibility, and impact. You'll play a key role in increasing engagement, growing our audience, and generating new members and income through high-quality, consistent digital content.

Many providers, policymakers, and the public are becoming increasingly aware of Care England's influence -- and this post will take that momentum and build on it. You will bring to life the behind-the-scenes work that often goes unnoticed, highlight the real-world impact of our policy wins, and clearly communicate the wide-ranging benefits of Care England membership -- especially those members may not yet be fully aware of.

We're looking for someone who understands how to translate complex policy into clear, visual, and interactive narratives, who can showcase the real-world benefits of membership, and who thrives on building communities and digital impact. Whether you're creating infographics, making short videos, writing captions, or responding to sector news in real-time, you'll be our digital front door.

You will also play a role in helping to grow our membership by ensuring Care England's work is well understood, consistently visible, and seen as essential to those operating in adult social care.

You'll be the digital linchpin within the organisation -- collaborating across teams and staying on top of sector developments. You'll also maintain the website to reflect and reinforce our digital messaging, ensuring all public-facing content -- including social media, our website and wider materials such as member brochures, and publications like Savings Solutions and Sustainability (SSS) -- are aligned and consistent.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Leadership

Develop and deliver a compelling social media strategy that increases the visibility of Care England's work and drives growth in followers, reach, and membership interest. Manage Care England's presence across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, ensuring a consistent, professional, and engaging tone of voice. Set up and manage new platforms as appropriate (e.g., TikTok), in line with audience growth and engagement goals. Take a proactive, real-time approach to social engagement -- responding to sector developments, joining live conversations, and maximising visibility at key moments.

Content Creation & Brand Storytelling

Design and deliver creative, high-impact content that reflects Care England's advocacy, member support, and leadership in the sector -- including infographics, videos, quote cards and carousels. Translate technical policy updates into digestible, visual posts that build understanding and encourage sector-wide engagement. Create short-form video content for social channels, from explainer videos to member spotlights and behind-the-scenes clips. Maintain a clear, values-driven brand identity across all content and platforms, ensuring alignment with our website and publications.

Membership Engagement & Visibility

Work closely with the Membership Team to spotlight member benefits, services, events, and resources -- particularly those underused or less well-known. Develop digital campaigns that celebrate members, share provider success stories, and reinforce the value of being part of Care England. Ensure that digital content is a key driver in member engagement and new membership acquisition -- presenting Care England as essential to operating in adult social care.

Website and Cross-Platform Consistency

Maintaining the content of Care England website to ensure it is fresh, consistent and aligned with messaging across social media and other publications. Ensure consistency and alignment across all digital channels, including the website, social media platforms, the Care Agenda, and SSS. Manage or contribute to SSS content, working with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy, branding alignment, and digital visibility. Identify opportunities to repurpose and amplify content across platforms for maximum visibility and clarity.

Collaboration & Sector Insight

Act as a digital bridge between the Policy and Membership teams, attending key meetings, staying on top of sector developments, and identifying opportunities for content. Help build an external-facing narrative that reflects the breadth and depth of Care England's work -- much of which happens behind the scenes.

Reporting, Analysis & Innovation

Use analytics tools to track channel performance and report monthly on engagement, growth, and impact. Set and meet KPIs related to reach, follower growth, engagement rates, and membership-driven activity. Stay ahead of digital trends, experiment with new formats, and bring ideas that keep our platforms evolving and relevant.
Duties and responsibilities may be subject to change based on organisational needs and at the discretion of management. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned
