Digital Content Coordinator





The Institute of Ismaili Studies is seeking a

Digital Content Coordinator

to create and manage engaging content across our website, newsletters, and social media. Reporting to the Senior Marketing & Communications Manager, you will oversee editorial calendars, commission and edit written pieces, coordinate newsletters via Mailchimp, and support multimedia projects including podcasts and video.



The role involves implementing social media strategy, ensuring accessibility and copyright compliance, and liaising with colleagues and external partners. Strong editorial skills and proven digital communications experience are essential.


What you'll do:




Develop and deliver engaging digital content across the IIS website, newsletters, and social media. Manage an editorial calendar, commissioning and editing articles, features, and updates. Lead production of the IIS Updateannual magazine, from concept to print. Coordinate digital newsletters (via Mailchimp), ensuring GDPR compliance and accurate CRM data. Implement social media strategy, creating copy and coordinating multimedia content with design colleagues. Support podcasts, video, and other multimedia projects with a focus on strong narratives and accessibility. Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality content. Monitor and respond to visitor queries sent to the IIS website.

What you bring:




An undergraduate/postgraduate degree in communications, journalism or a humanities subject area Proven experience in digital communications, content creation, or editorial coordination. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an eye for accuracy and detail. Familiarity with digital tools such as Mailchimp, YouTube Studio, or design platforms. Understanding of digital accessibility standards and GDPR compliance. Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines independently. A collaborative mindset, able to work across teams and with external partners across a variety of cultures and stakeholder groups including public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
