An opportunity exists for an Electronics Development Engineer to join the Trueform Digital team, working within the digital signage electrical engineering division. The role incorporates the responsibilities of product design, engineering, production and customer liaison.

Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for all electrical and electronic aspects of the Trueform Digital display and digital signage product range throughout its product life cycle, working closely with the Mechanical Engineers to develop and deliver the future product and technology roadmap.
Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Working closely with the Senior Management team the successful candidate will design, develop and deliver all electrical and electronic aspects of the Trueform Digital Product and Technology Roadmap.
Develop and maintain a detailed awareness of current and future electronic display technologies, forming strong relationships with leading industry component suppliers, establishing robust and value-adding supply chain partnerships.
Develop value-engineered, modular, products from the outset, based on best-in-class industry leading components, following quality, cost and design for manufacturing principles.
Lead the product development process - this is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will drive the creation of new product designs, be actively involved in the production of prototypes and samples and will lead the product approvals processes.
Consult closely with Customers, both in terms of providing timely and professional aftersales Customer support and also understanding future client and market requirements - information which is vital as input to the Product and Technology Roadmap.
Facilitate the introduction of new products into manufacturing, providing detailed technical support to Sales and Production, including producing costings and documentation - including BOMs, build instructions and O&M manuals.
Lead the Product Approval process, consulting with external Approval Authorities e.g. BSI, UL, CSA, CE ensuring all products meet legislative and customer specific requirements.
Skills/Qualifications
Essential
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly self-motivated and driven individual who thrives on achievement and delivery
Degree in an Electrical / Electronics Engineering discipline
Minimum 5+ years industrial experience in a manufacturing business
Working knowledge of key electronic display technologies including LED, LCD and EInk, processors and operating systems, cellular communications devices and routers, power supplies and thermal management components
Proven Project Management experience, able to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a complete product lifecycle, with full consideration for commercial aspect, cost and leadtime
Problem solving and decision making, root cause analysis
Working knowledge of Design for Manufacture principles
Previous experience of leading product approval and certification processes, with a sound understanding of Quality Management Systems
Desirable
Working knowledge of the design of rugged electronic products for harsh environments, including Ingress Protection and Impact
Working knowledge in digital signage thermal management & heat exchange systems
An understanding of Network architecture including cellular networks and technology
