This role is key in bridging the digital divide and promoting equitable access to healthcare tools. You'll work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and community organisations to support digital access and improve patient satisfaction.
You will be working very closesly with the Digital Inclusion Lead at the surgery to improve the processes and streamline them, and you will work together as a team!
This is a
dual-role position
:
Monday to Wednesday
- You will work as the
Digital Inclusion Assistant
, focusing on supporting patients with digital services, troubleshooting issues with online access, promoting the use of NHS apps, and gathering feedback to improve digital engagement.
Thursday and Friday
- You will work as part of the
reception and administration team
, managing patient queries, booking appointments, and supporting the practice's day-to-day operations.

Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in digital inclusion, digital literacy training, or a related field.
Strong understanding of the barriers to digital access and the challenges faced by diverse communities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with patients from all backgrounds.
Experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
Passionate about health equity and improving access to healthcare for all.
Requirements:
Able to work Monday to Friday, from 8.45am to 5.30pm
Fluent in speaking and writing both Arabic and English language

To work with our amazing team as front-of-house staff to promote digital applications to patients, help them get set up online, as well as answer any queries. The job will also entail developing patient satisfaction with the GP practice, ensuring that patient needs are met, therefore looking at the patient holistically.
As part of your roles, you will also be involved in reception and administrative house duties.
Reception duties can include, but are not limited to:
opening/closing the surgery
greeting patients
booking patient appointments
answering telephone calls promptly
monitor call times using our cloud-based telephone dashboard
signpost patients to the appropriate services
liaising with medical team members
process repeat prescription requests
ask for support from the admin team when the phone is busy
Administrator duties can include, but are not limited to:
monitoring and actioning the practice emails
completing and code online patient registrations
register patients for online services
managing and sending referrals
re-calling patients for reviews/appokintment
stocking rooms and inventory check
actioning doctor task and manage the results over the phone
record meeting minutes
process all Out of Area and Patient Warning letters
action GP2GP tasks
when the telephone line is busy, help reception by answering calls
process requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance / solicitor letters and DVLA forms
partake in adult and child safeguarding care and audits
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may be requested to:
Suggest improvements to our practice and your job role, in practice meetings
Apply practice policies, standards, and guidance and help improve these policies
Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead
